Dental implants
The purpose of dental implants is to replace missing teeth, thus forming a firm and robust entity that will provide support for the new tooth.
At Hinboca Dental Clinic the healing time for dental implants until the permanent teeth are in place is only 3 weeks, as opposed to conventional techniques which take a minimum of 12 weeks.
Always keep in mind...
Dental implant design
The design of a dental implant mimics the appearance of a natural tooth. A natural tooth consists of the part that is visible in the mouth above the gums, which is the crown, and another part, the root, which is located in the jawbone. In the case of teeth on implants, the difference with the appearance of a natural tooth is negligible, as the new materials used to make the artificial teeth are of the highest quality and are very similar to the patient’s own teeth. The dental implant replaces the tooth root and therefore remains below the gums anchored to the jawbone.
Objective of treatment
The aim of dental implant treatment is to replace a single tooth, several teeth or even comprehensive treatments in which all teeth have to be replaced.
Placement phase
The dental implant placement phase is very simple and painless. Unlike the old techniques which were very aggressive, with the techniques we use today, which are performed under local anaesthesia, the patient feels practically nothing and can lead a normal life from the first day the dental implant is placed.
Healing process
Dental implants undergo a healing process in the bone known as “osseointegration” until the final artificial tooth is in place. However, it is possible to place screw-retained fixed temporary teeth on the same day as the dental implants are placed. This technique is known as “immediate loading”. Working with the best dental implants on the market and the experience of Dr. Carlos Morilla make it possible for us to use this technique on a daily basis with all our patients.
With Dr. Carlos Morilla, the healing period for dental implants until the permanent teeth are in place is only 3 weeks from the placement of the dental implants, as opposed to conventional techniques in which this time takes at least 12 weeks.
Healing time
Once the healing time has elapsed, the temporary teeth are removed and the definitive teeth are made of porcelain, which are attached to the implants by means of an internal screw.
